Facility Maintenance Manager (Diesel Shop)

Primary Function
Manages personnel and facilities to ensure quality, safe maintenance work.
Description
- Manage employees responsible for performing component repair and all aspects of preventative maintenance on the newest and best maintained fleet in the industry.
- Perform Level A and B Mechanic safe repair/maintenance work to meet department service requirements.
- Make suggestions and recommendations to immediate supervisor as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion of other employees to insure quality maintenance work.
- Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction through completion of quality and safe repair/maintenance work.
- Responsible for facility compliance with all company guidelines and procedures.
- Responsible for completion of all required documentation by employees - documents must be legible, accurate and timely.
- Utilize company computer systems to manage all maintenance work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Skills
- Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required.
- Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position.
- Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
- Willingness to travel within close proximity of terminal (close geographical area), work the required schedule, work at the specific location

- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25lbs/12kg, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to perform Level A Mechanic work as needed - engine, transmission, power train, computer diagnostics and trouble shooting.
- Ability to perform Level B Mechanic work as needed - general truck repair, trailer repair, body work, APU, engine or transmission.
- ASE Certification a plus.
- Regular attendance
Additional Requirements
Skill level A Mechanic, 5 years’ experience.
Education Required
High School Diploma or GED
