Work Schedule

7am-5pm  Monday through Friday and as required by supervisor

Primary Function

Communications Coordinator  is responsible for developing, publishing and maintaining accuracy of company communications content such as the company newsletter, website, blog, social media, employee orientation documentation, customer communications, training program documentation and other programs. The Communications Coordinator will also organize and support company functions and meetings as needed. The Coordinator should be a digital champion and ready to help the company increase its brand awareness and engagement online. The Coordinator will interact with employees, customers, vendors and industry associations to gain testimonials and feedback to promote awareness of the Big G brand through all company communications channels.  The Coordinator will maintain industry relationships and communications programs with ATA, TTA, TCA and Smartway.  The Communications Coordinator will assist employees with communications and utilizing app and software technologies launched by the company.  The role requires enthusiasm, accomplished writing skills and excellent communication skills.   

Description

 INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS: Oversees day-to-day execution of integrated communications programs in support of strategic business objectives, including collaborating and supporting as needed.                            

CROSS DEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION: Builds and maintains a working knowledge of all departments and program areas.

Serves as a highly effective link between all departments for strategy, ideas formation and execution.

 MESSAGE DEVELOPMENT: Supports the creation of engaging messages, storylines and content for company communications. 

 QUALITY CONTROL: Collaborates across the organization to ensure communications are cohesive, meet company standards and convey a consistent story to both internal and external audiences.  Responsible for continuous communications with employees to support the quality and effective use of technologies as they evolve within the company. 

 CONTENT DEVELOPMENT: Oversees, develops and implements high-impact content for brand awareness, public relations and other promotional purposes, including website content, blog posts, social media posts, presentations, press materials, etc.

 INTERNAL COMMUNICATION: Drafts internal communication, such as employee engagement communication, employee birthdays and service anniversaries, etc. as needed.

 EVENT COORDINATION: Organizes and supports the execution of events and meetings such as driver appreciation, charity and ESOP events and other meetings as required.   

 SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT: Working with the recruiting and driver services & retention department and appropriate vendors, assists with social media engagement with the company brand through the development and execution of social media strategies and an up-to-date, forward-looking content calendar for the company and its departments including the website events calendar. COLLABORATION: Effectively manages relationships and projects with outside agencies and consultants supporting communications projects such a brand positioning, content development, public relations, website maintenance and enhancements as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned or as needed.

Skills

 Knowledge of the principals and practices of marketing, public relations, digital communication and community relations.

Excellent professional-level writing, editing and verbal communications skills with an ability to adjust communication for different audiences and channels and to tell a compelling story.

 Capability to manage multiple projects under tight and sometimes competing deadlines with the flexibility to quickly shift gears when needed.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with multiple internal teammates and external stakeholders as well as senior leadership.

Experience maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Functional knowledge of web technology and insights into digital communication.

Proficiency in standard office software.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Word Press, Publisher, social media engagement platforms and other similar tools and software required in this field.

Capable of operating with minimal supervision while consistently communicating status.

Analytical skills and the ability to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data.

Desire to take on new challenges as the company evolves.

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, journalism or a related field is preferred. Prefer three or more years of progressive marketing or communications experience in a corporation, government agency or marketing/Public Relations agency.
