Primary Function
The HR Specialist is responsible for general administrative duties of the Human Resources Department with commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Description
- Responsible for maintenance of company personnel and benefits data files within HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
- Performs regular audits to insure company and regulatory compliance of data files within HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
- Maintains, processes, reviews, and compiles a variety of confidential and sensitive electronic and hard copy reports, records, statistics, and correspondence, which requires tact and discretion in handling.
- Responsible for the coordination and overseeing the onboarding of all company employees.
- Fields requests for information regarding the company personnel and benefits data files in compliance with company policy.
- Assists co-workers within Human Resources department to insure maintenance of efficient, accurate and secure data.
- Responsible for coordination of benefits for all employees including assisting employees with benefits questions and concerns.
- Responsible for the coordination and tracking of on-going HR training programs
- In certain locations, performs essential front desk administrative duties including but not limited to greeting visitors, answering, and routing incoming phone calls
- Responsible for maintenance of FMLA personnel and benefits data files
- Primary contacts are within the department with regular contact with management and representatives of outside organizations
- Recruiting for all office and non-driver positions utilizing job boards, career websites, resume searches, etc.
- Responsible for the administrative duties of unemployment claims including but not limited to appeals and unemployment hearings.
- Regular attendance is required to maintain a safe and productive work environment
- Other duties may be assigned

Education Required
- High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred.
- 1-2 years human resource experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
