As required and defined by Immediate Supervisor to accomplish job responsibilities 

Current Schedule: Rotating 3/4 days with every other weekend off 7am-7pm

Primary Function

The job of the Extended Coverage Operations Manager was established for the purpose/s of managing transportation services; providing information and serving as a resource to the Director of Operations; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with Big G Express objectives as well as all relevant guidelines, codes, and regulations; and supervising and managing assigned staff.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff for professional growth
  • Monitor operations to ensure staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures; safety rules
  • Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
  • Implement schedule and policy changes
  • Serve as contact person for all Extended Coverage employees
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals
  • Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback
  • Research and respond to time sensitive needs of customers (internal and external) and other operations personnel with a sense of urgency and priority
  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound communications
  • Develop contingency plans to cover critical situations
  • Training employees regarding job duties and performance expectations
  • Regular attendance is required to maintain a safe and productive work environment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned


  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, motivate, and lead a cross functional team; including background in transportation operations
  • Ability to make timely decisions and provide leadership in a complex environment under pressure
  • Strong organization, communication, and logistics skills with solid problem solving abilities
  • Keyboard skills, working knowledge of PC and AS400, Excel, Word, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, excellent time management skills, strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills required

Education Required

High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
