100% Employee Owned Company

Big G Express, Inc. became 100% employee-owned on January 1, 2009 through an ESOP. An ESOP, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, is a retirement plan. Unlike a 401(k) plan, employees do not contribute to the ESOP; Big G Express, Inc makes all contributions to the ESOP account. An ESOP allows all employees to have ownership in the company, share in the risks and rewards of being an owner, influence future success of the company, own an interest in the company and to share in financial results. After just 2 years of being an ESOP, Big G's stock increased 94%.

Requirements

  • 21 Years of Age
  • Good MVR/Driving Record
  • 6 Months recent OTR experience

Pay Rates

Starting cents-per-mile is based on each driver's verifiable years of driving experience.

Per Diem Rates:
Solo: 10  cents per diem included in the base pay
Team: 5  cents per diem included in the base pay

Automatic Pay Increase Every 6 Months

Safety & Compliance Bonus

Big G Express, Inc. has a bonus program in place to reward drivers not for doing the job they were hired to do, but for doing it well. This bonus is for those who perform their duties in a safe, dutiful and error-free manner. All full-time drivers qualify for consideration by the Safety & Performance Committee after completion of 90 days of service.

Fuel & Performance Bonus paid Every 6 Months

Additional Compensation

  • Vacation Pay:  One week after one year of service; two weeks after two years of service; three weeks after ten years of service.
  • Holiday Pay:  Seven paid holidays after completion of 90 days of service.

Additional Information

  • Big G Express utilizes the PrePass and EZPass transponders, which allow drivers to pass scales without stopping when properly cleared, as well as making toll booths more expedient.
  • All drivers are assigned a personal dispatcher.
  • Solo drivers average 2,700 miles per week.
  • Teams average 4,500 miles per week.
  • Drivers are home most weekends.
